Just got the "old" style X5, white bulbs. Very solid, VERY bright. Its best defensive use would be as a blinding light! It'll blind in broad daylight!!!
I've had it for about an hour, but I'm sold. I do NOT like the looks of the new ones, nor do I think it'll make much difference how it turns on. The new design totally breaks up the cool "solid metal cylinder" design the old ones have. Plus, the old ones are cheaper!
I've done alot of research on it at candlepowerforums.com, and overall it has excellent reviews. I'm confident it will serve me well on some upcoming sailing and camping trips this summer. Along with my Strider BT and Extrema Ratio Harpoon F!
