I have a customer that supplied 2 finished Kabar USMC type blades, without guards or handles. His only request was that they be comfortable and tough for use. He does not care for the normal stacked leather style handle. Any suggestions and pictures from you all here would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

That particular style knife is stylized by the handle material and blade shape easily recognized in a crowd. I would use a parkerized steel guard and G-10 cut discs with G-10 contrasting color spacer. Carries the Look of the design and different from stacked leather and plenty durable.

I immediately thought Micarta, but not if you're doing the stacked washer routine. I'd do a block handle if I went Micarta.

The cork idea is interesting
Yes , with gard front and rear will be well protected .Nothing can beat cork in grip feel...............I can t find here natural cork suitable for handle :( I made some handle with rubber cork ... good but not like original cork .
