Input needed for personal conceal carry -

I know this is a cookie cutter response but Gun>Knife just getting it out of the way :D

i wouldnt discount folders. My emerson combat karambit is just as fast to draw as any fixed blade and id trust it with my life. but any model with the wave could suit your needs.

i love the work of fred perrin i own one of his knives nad it has soul. I am also a big fan of the rat line of knives and i carry a RAT 3 everywhere i go along with my emerson K-bit, if you want a stout concealable fixed blade id go with that.

Daggers are nice for cqc but they have less uses, and i have to say that if a cop searches you and sees that nifty dagger its gonna look exactly like what it is: a weapon, im assumeing this is why you dont carry a firearm so why throw in that risk to a knife?

Check out Bud Nealy's offerings. The CPM154 version of his Kinzhal is a bit out of your price range but seems like an amazing package. Right now I'm waitlisted for one of these in S30V.

You can see some nice pics of his sheath system and knife designs here (his website gallery is slightly outdated; the pics in the proceeding link are more representative of his current work):
edit: link not working; google "bud nealy tnk" and you'll see a working gallery.

Several come to mind, but not necessarily in the steel you asked about.

Livesay's Woo, especially the Executive Woo (Micarta handle), Polkowski's Alpha Jammer (Has a great kydex sheath for IWB carry). BlackHawk's Kalista's another good one. It can be carried several different ways. The RC3s & RAT3s are good, too, but I actually prefer the RAT3 because it's a little smaller (& comes in D2).

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Rummaging around in my sock drawer yesterday and gun cabinet I found an old LCC which is a great find and a CRKT Krawford fixed blade plain edge I forgot I had. Sheath sucks the knife is pretty nice. Great grip ergo's and the sheath is serviceable. I used to carry that on my bike and quit for some reason. May start again. I forget the model it is called but it is a great s.d. blade. I'll post a pic of it if I get a chance. If you can find one grab it I would suggest and have a new sheath made. keepem sharp

PS it might be called a pug or a bulldog or something along those lines

Dan Crotts, Tom Krein, and Bob Dozier would be my recommendations. I don't own a Krein yet but have heard great things. The D2 on my Doziers and Crotts' are top notch.

Chase Axinn at Chaxknives.net also does some reasonably priced custom work for the purpose that you've stated. He has a standard line that you can see on his web site, or he can do something from your design. He also works with a variety of steels.

Yes, congrats. That is a sweeeeeet piece there. I believe you are right, that should do the job nicely. Enjoy.

Glad you went with a fixed blade . I do not care what anyone say's a fixed blade if carried correctly will always be faster into action then a folder and I am sure you will be pleased with your choice.

I agree with fixed over folder. However, that being said, muscle memory is probably the most important - Reaction without thinking.
But, in the final anaysis, there's just less that could go wrong in deploying a FB vs deploying a folder. Kinda like Revolver vs Pistol. At least that's my reasoning anyway.

A fixed blade is what the OP wanted in the first place. He got a knife from a great maker.
