Gentlemen,

I'm on a market for a small but tougher than nails fixed blade. I would like to have a 7 long knife with a 3-3 1/4 long and 1.5 wide blade with 1/4 thickness made from CPM3V steel. Nothing fancy, just a bare-bones flatground, drop point or tanto with an everyday stonewash finish. No tapered tang, no jewelling. I don't even need sheath or handleslabs, I want to make those myself. I would like to keep the price under $120 if possible.

Could any of you gentlemen make this knife for me?

Thanks in advance.

You should check out Knifekits.com texasknife.com or alpha knife supply. Most makers won't make blanks. Good Luck

Knifekits.com has 3/16 S30V for $8 an inch, so your looking at $56 just for the steel. This stuff eats belts, plus with grinding and heat treating time involved I don't think that it would be cost effective for a maker to make and sell a blank.

Checking prices the steel would be the hold up. I would recomend ATS34. Its a great blade steel and your knife could be made, Heat-treated and cryoed to RC60 and stay in the $120.00 range.
