<deal spotting link removed>
I'm fairly sure this isn't deal spotting, but if it let me know and I'll remove the link

I was doing some research about the more reputable chinese knife companies, just for kicks, and this blade showed up. I had never heard of the company so I did some research and Inron was founded by some people who split off from Enlan, apparently. I don't know if that makes Inron reputable, but I know that Enlan makes a good product (see EL-01). The resemblance to the 0560 is fairly evident and I like the blade. I went ahead and snagged one in the tan because the price was good and I was curious about 9Cr13MoV. What do you guys think? Waste of money?

never owned one but it looks kershaw-esque.... and im glad to see more 9cr

edit: now that im looking at the back of it, it kind of looks like a zt0560/hinderer knockoff

edit2: ok this is a total clone..down to the flathead pivot

I think that may have been the point. A lot of the Chinese companies (Sanrenmu, Enlan, etc.) like to copy designs that are already on the market and just sell them for super cheap, due in part to the inferior materials, of course.

It's a blatant copy for sure. Additionally, the framelock side looks way too thin, and would make me quite nervous to use it hard. At its very cheap price point, why don't you get one and give us a good review? :D

I went ahead and snagged one, I'll use it for a bit and report back. I also noticed the thinness of the framelock but in a video I watched of a guy handling it, it seemed adequate. We'll see!

I removed the link for you. Linking to live ebay auctions is naughty.

Disappointing start for the company started by former Enlan guys. I don't see them surpassing the old company any time soon. (Sounds kind of like how CRKT started from former Kershaw employees, actually)

An update: The knife came in monday and I've been carrying it for a couple of days now. Honestly, I'm very impressed. I may put something up in the review section, but I don't have access to a decent camera and I feel the lack of pictures would make the review pointless. I will say that the F&F are great. There are a few minor issues but for how much I paid it's totally understandable. I've really enjoyed carrying it, and I plan on taking it hunting in a few weeks to put it through some more outdoorsy paces.

The blade is 3mm. The flipper was a bit stiff at first but it quickly wore in and is very smooth now. It's a lot of fun to play with, honestly. The frame lock was a bit stiff as well when I first got it but it too has since loosened up and is no longer a problem.

Is there any blade play? how symmetrical are the grind and plunge lines? I think I might get one of these as a practical joke for a buddy who just got into knives, he might think it's a real hinderer for a second ;) But I am not wanting to waste my money, I want to be giving him a decent knife to use as well.

Man. THough tis is a knock off, it's still nice. I really dig the orange. How is the blade centering? I know it doesn't really matte runless it's practically rubbing on the liner, but it's a pet peeve of mines. I got an enlan before and it was damn near touching the liner, which drove me nuts.

From what I've seen, Inron tends to use slightly higher-grade steel & makes more robust looking designs than the other Chinese companies. Haven't handled any of them, though.

If you think this one looks like a total clone you havent seen the high end knock-offs.

Nothing reputable about a company who steals others designs.

The knife is clearly not a clone trying to pass as a real Hinderer..... So they aren't "stealing" from anyone.... That's like saying a Toyota with a V8 is stealing from Ford.... ridiculous. Plus they cost less than 20$ shipped...... pretty damn good considering an XM18 is 40 times the price.

The Microtech Matrix wasn't trying to pass as a ZT0777 either. ;)
