Man......this knife (if you may call it that) looks better and better. Larry was really inspired (even more then usual) when he made this one:thumbup::thumbup::cool::cool:

As much as I like YouTube, I have to say that the pics are a better way to convey the characteristics of the knife than the low res' video.... ;)

A deep foreboding enveloped my troubled soul when I beheld this bladed creature, for I know this must be that mutated missing link that evolutionary biologists have been desperately searching for that will boldly prove once for all that we are the progeny of Carl Sagan's star dust (aka Mother Earth).

Marcel, I've bemused myself greatly over how Dutch customs might confound over voodoo blades. With the right curse it might be a clever way to take revenge . . . or find yourself in the gulag, if an official punctures himself on a spine or tooth.

Blake,

You got a killer knife there. It was so great having you. I'm so please to call you a friend.

I've seen and handled Goblins but this is WAAAAAY beyond those.

Outrageous is a word that comes to mind...in a good way!

Peter

Blake - You know I dropped a card in Larry's box for The Ripper too, and was sorry it wasn't drawn. But I have to say that it could not have gone to a more enthusiastic or appreciative person. I overheard you talking with Larry about it and I know that incredible work of art has found a perfect home with you! I love the videos and look forward to our crossing paths again in the future.

What an incredible blade, I swear that Ripper comes alive at night. He closed his damascus tail the other night (!)

Thanks so much for the kind words Buddy. I feel very lucky to meet such a great group of talented, cool, affable guys. The knife nuts have got to be some of the most genuine and over all good people I have been fortunate enough to meet in a long time.
And what can I say about Larry, I mean the guy is omnipotent. I had such amazing conversations with both he and Tim Hancock and was just ecstatic about getting a chance to speak with them candidly about their craft and the business as a whole.
Josh Smith, you are a total stud and kick serious ass. You put on one hell of a show last week, and everyone I know that was there says the same. I too am duly honored and pleased to call you my friend as well. Thank you. Anja and I will most assuredly be back up there this summer as there are many trout to be caught and greens to be missed before the snow flies.

The "Ripper" is not only a beautiful knife, but an outstanding work of art.
Pieces such as this do an enormous service to the custom knife industry in
bringing mainstream art lovers into our community that we would not reach
otherwise. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Blake. I can't wait to lose some golf balls and drown some worms. :D Oh wait you kill those poor little flies don't you? What will you do if I out catch you on a fat old worm?

Blake,
The sheer Ecstasy on your face when you won the draw let everyone know that the Ripper had found the right home.
Congrats, and I'm glad that you are getting to know your knife.

Tom - I think I know a little bit about how that incredible savant brain of yours operates and you are probably calculating and creating new complex design ideas right now. I know that once those inspirational seeds get planted only some serious crazy masterpiece will be germinated. And I for one can't wait to see what grows out of this.

you the man

as always Nice Job COOP !!

amazing piece of work and artistry...way out there...but certainly not a knife you want to lock away in a safe...It needs to be displayed like a Rembrandt...

Thanks for sharing..

Just a quick follow up on the Ripper - I had a small table at the PKA here in Denver
and "The Ripper" was by FAR the most attention grabbing asset one could have at the show, perhaps second only to a scantily clad vegas style bombshell and I could not convince one to join me (!) When people walked by they put the brakes on HARD.
I had many people ask about, and handle the Ripper at the show and the overriding emotion was awe.

I got to marvel at this knife at the PKA show and it must be seen to be truly appreciated. Blake, it was nice meeting you and thanks for your graciousness in allowing me (and all I sent over to see it :) ) to enjoy this piece of art.

Brett
