I got out for a couple of hours the other day and got a short hike in. At one point we found a small cave (3-4' in diameter) and on the back wall there were these small (eggs?). They were 2/3 of the way up the wall, and just stuck there. No signs of other inhabitants other than a spider web in the farthest distant corner. I don't suppose anybody has any ideas?

(The knife is an Emerson CQC-7A, I was feeling very tacticool that day:D)

IF i were to guess, and I'm taking semi educated guess, I would say pentatomidae eggs. That family includes stinkbugs. That is just a guess though, they are shiny! cool!

Nice close up shot by the way walter!

Thanks, that does look pretty similar!

The close up is all because of the camera-I didn't think any of them would come out because my girlfriend wouldn't quit moving the thing around in her hand:grumpy::p

oooo They look pretty slick. Is the first pic when they were on the wall? Insect eggs are sooo interesting! Are they squishy?

Yeah, the first pic is just as we found 'em (and left all but one). They were hollow, the dark spots are the openings where something crawled out of 'em:D
