Insingo owners, I need some input

I'm thinking seriously about getting a large Insingo. I've read a few places that they are great for cutting and slicing. Do guys that have an Insingo

think they cut the same or better than other CRK blades ?

The Insingo blade shape looks great for cutting and slicing to me.

Insingo blades seem larger than they really are imo... and yes, their wonderful cutters.
Been alternating between a Small Insingo & Lg Reg as of late.

They do seem just a tad bit larger. I know that when closed, the back of the blade at the tip sticks out a little farther than a plain blade. I kinda like that better. As far as cutting goes, I haven't owned my CRK's long enough to really know how well they perform in normal tasks. I do however agree that the insingo blade looks like it is a better slicer. I have two larges that rarely get carried and use my micarta insingo as a light user. Such great knives!

Imo the insingo blade would slice better because the tip is lower than the clip point blade.

im also eye balling a small insingo, wondering if I can swap the blade for an inlay handle.

I agree with bradtown. An Insingo feels a tad larger. I ordered a small Insingo with Micarta and double lugs almost two years ago. It has been nearly a constant companion since it arrived April 2012. However, my large Insingo was quickly displaced by a Hinderer 3.5 XM18 for EDC. I think having at least one Insingo in a pocket is a great thing. But two may be a little redundant. So pick one and be happy.

Been thinking of getting a small.
Are the insingo a special order? I surely don't see that at the CRK website.

Also, I can't PM you for some reason, Ben. But I know where there is one available at a good price. It's not mine. PM me at CPF?

Iv'e been a CRK guy for years and never cared for, nor wanted an Insingo. I unenthusiastically decided to pull the trigger on one about 3 months ago and I want to kick myself in the butt for not getting one earlier. GREAT and USEFUL blade shape. My ONE AND ONLY complaint is that I can't clean my fingernails with it.

I own four insingos (all large, different flavors) and by far is my favorite utility folder. The insingo is a champ for slicing and cutting and has moved my regular out of the pocket.

You can't go wrong getting one.

I own one! I haven't been able to use it that much since I sent it into CRK. But I don't imagine myself getting rid of it. It definitely has this certain mystique to it... I mean when I first seen it I thought it was ugly. But now I see beauty. Funny how that works. I have a large with micarta and have loved the short use I had with it. Can't wait to get it back.

Love my Large Insingo. It cuts and resharpens very well. Mine sees quite a bit on landscaping duty as well as wood, boxes and paper. You can do all those jobs in one day and now worry about it not cutting cleanly (unless you hack at baling wire - that will dull it ;) ). I'm considering buying another to put away for a rainy day.

A large micarta would be about the only knife I can think of that I'd consider trading my 25 for.

The wharncliffe (including modified) is absolutely my favorite all time blade shape. There is little that you cannot do with them, yet they slice extremely well.

Funny, two of my absolute favorite knives, a $455 Sebenza, and a $20 Cold Steel mini tuff lite. Both amazing.

Last week I compared a large wood inlay one with a plain jane insingo while slicing bread.
The Insingo came was the clear winner.
If my memory serves me right, CRK won't do polished Insingo blades as this would make the blade thinner.

I've been using my large plain jane left hand insingo for almost 2 years now. Great knife and very easy to put a killer sharp edge on this baby. Love it!

Are you saying that they grind a deeper hollow on the Insingo?

I'm all for thin. :)

I too was a skeptic, but EDC has made me an Insingo believer.... I like the regular too, but now it's flip a coin.... They do seem larger , I like that. I also feel that thinner is better, Bart

Love my large - only complaint is the blade nips at the lanyard when closed. I had to take the lanyard pin out and tie the lanyard old school. Other than that it's a ton of blade and a great slicer.

The Large Insingo more or less kicked the Tanto Umnum out of my pocket, which had in turn kicked a Small Insingo out of my pocket when I decided to carry a bigger knife.

I still have a few in rotation but the Large Insingo is more " The Knife " for regular edc use, for me, than any other I've owned. I'm very happy that I tried one out after hearing for so long how akward the blade was on the Large version, seems perfect to me.
