Inspiration of Cloud Cutter

He's alive... All this time...

Only half alive, if that, Petah. :) Remember that I've been brain dead for at least forty years. :D And I'm going to vanish from this thread so it doesn't get derailed. I really like this Jungle Honey!!!

Damn, that is great news Jimmy! Looking forward to your e-mail. Must have been great having Fred and Elsa forging with you!

The more I look at this rendition the more I like it, a great package!!

Very nice work indeed, as pointed out to me by Win Heger, and a most excellent interpretation of Fikes' Jungle Honey from back in the early 90's. I can say this with some authority, I believe, since I am that very same Fikes. :) Beautiful work you've done!!!

And, Win... expect a note from me later today. It seems as if I have indeed managed to haul my aching and falling apart carcass back from the land of the broken-down and incapacitated old geezers to the point of being able to get the shop open and the forges lit. I'm just about to finish up a large tanto-ish fighter and have ten or so smaller pieces in the works. :p

Fred Perrin and Elsa Fantino were just here from France for a few days visit before heading off to the Blade show. Now there's some inspiration! Loved watching them working in the forge and was striker for Elsa on a couple of blades.

Hi to all the guys and gals here. I've missed this place.

Jimmy

Thank you Jimmy,
and thank you everyone here.

Wow... what a thread! A beautiful rendition of Jimmy and Don's work... AND a most welcome return by one of our heroes--- Jimmy Fikes!!!  :D

Wana- GREAT work!!! :) (I'm going to admit that I had to get google to help me figure out how tall 160cm is in feet and inches) :o :foot:

And of course, MUCH THANKS to our friend Win for bringing this to Jimmy's attention! :)

hans

Alive but not kicking very well :D Missed you to, Hans. Will get a letter off to you soon and catch up on things. Hope all is well with you.

Wana has done one heck of a job on this piece, for sure. Love that sheath he's made for the piece, too! A most excellent craftsman.

Howdy, Nick :D

I'm beginning to think I should have stayed out of sight. Dang! I'm so far behind in everything I can't even seen anyone's tail lights!

Hope all is well with you. I can tell that all's well with Wana if that blade is any indication.

I consider this the ultimate zombie blade man! are both edges sharp? (did somebody already ask that). I would want it with a kydex sheath myself, but I'm crazy.

May I ask, so the hamon, modern hamons, is cosmetic more than functional? It looks like most people are using them for looks and I'd think if it was a functional thing there'd be a way to calculate how much edge you want hardened more? maybe somebody could explain to me?

Great work Wana
And Jimmy's nice words on your work means a lot to it
Now I really feel like going to Ayudhiya just to see you and your works Wana ;)
Congrats to you :)
