Insulting other specific members and mods in your signature

I just noticed this:

The Quote in this persons thread is from a banned member. A banned member who got banned after getting into it with the mods (sassing). This banned member also got into it with a great many people including myself. The quote in the above persons signature is an insulting response to one of my posts. Not only does it insult me as being sanctimonious in a negative way, it also insinuates that the moderators are sanctimonious in a negative way.

Now, could Kelama just be pointing out how wrong this banned troll was in his signature for everyone to see? Sure I guess. The thing is, Kelama doesn't like me because I participate in W&C and the Cove. He has said so off topic in the GB&U. He has also complained at length about W&C and the Cove. So this is not a coincidence that he would take an insult directed at me and use it for his signature. I think he didn't fully think through how it can be taken as mode sassing because he often posts on pure emotion bordering on hysteria.

So, is this an okay thing to do? I've reported it but it was so recent I would expect no action yet as I am sure there are more pressing issues. Anyway, just thought I would bring it to attention and ask if it was okay. I mean, with every post he insults me so should I defend myself with every post he makes? That would get tiresome.

You yourself have an insulting warning against a paid member in good standing, who has actually done nothing wrong on this forum in your signature, but you report someone for doing much the same thing..... :rolleyes:

I have no idea who you are talking about Karda. Please show the link between my signature and what ever it is you are talking about.

The fact that you can't back whatever it is you are talking about up is besides the point, this is a question asked to the Mods and spark, not you. Remember, this is Tech Support. Let's try to keep this thread on topic. Thanks :thumbup:
 
It's actually a pretty good question. I'm curious what the mod staff comes up with when they put their heads together on this one.

kelama isn't calling the mods sanctimonious, he's just quoting someone in his sig blck who did.

I forget who it was, but there was some sports figure who would ask referees/umps he was mad at...also forget the sport....but he would ask them "If I said you were a <blank><blank><blank>, would you fine me?" Reminds me of this. :D

It reminds me of the none-apology-apology "I'm sorry if you were offended by...x"

But on a different level, what if everyone posted insulting quotes about a specific member made by other members in their sig?

No name, no foul. "Ignore the Troll" then becomes only good advice. Drop it.
We have enough to deal with without speculation and stirring up trouble.

Like Esav mentioned there are no names mentioned the vast majority of people would have no idea who Kelma's sig quote was referencing.

And I will wear it with pride. I am sort of flattered he would take the time to troll me in such a complex manner because if you investigate it you can find direct links unlike what karada has brought up. Oh well. Guess I'm making friends :D

This isn't out in the real BFC. This is Tech support where actual important topics get brought up. Delicate sensitivities get left at the door and issues get hashed out. Sometimes this requires quoting what people you may not like say. I know how you feel, that said if this is a problem then you shouldn't be here because it will happen again.
 
Don't mind me, just another member chiming in. Maybe take the time to hit the ignore button on KELAMA.
