I'm getting ready to buy a knife from someone at another forum. I'm sending a money order. Is there any insurance that I will recieve my knife, and if i dont that i will be refunded my money? The person looks reputable but you can never be sure. Thanks for the help.

Use A USPS postal money order. THen if you are screwed he is guilty of mail fraud which is a 15 year felony. And the USPS takes it very seriously. You can buy these money orders at any post office and I use them Religiously.

On the flip side make sure the sender send it insured, so if it gets lost or stolen you're not out the money AND the knife.

I would also make sure to send it via USPS with the "Return Receipt" and signature confirmation so he will have to sign for it and cannot say it was lost or it never showed up. You will get the green card back with his signature on it. Makes the case even easier for the Postal Inspectors.

Not a bad idea you send a check return receipt, I like it.

For the knife any insurance amount over $200 forces usps to get a signature.

usps is the only way that i ship anything and it will be insured if its a knife. i might ship knife parts uninsured if its not far.

Yes, anything over $200, make sure it is not insured for $200 because that does not require a signature. (Blue USPS Insurance slip not black)
