Integral damascus chef set. PIC LINKS UPDATED.

"Very simple knives, just a piece of steel and a piece of wood."

It takes a master to elevate something simple to a form of art as you've done.

Ah! Now I can see them. That's one incredible set of knives Salem. Beautiful. Mike

Oh, hell yes!!! I can see the pictures now and those are supreme.....wow! :)

Very very cool! If it was simple everyone would be doing it. That serrated bread knife looks wicked.

Thanks a bunch, y'all. These took me a fair bit of time and effort!
I think a question about the serration was raised, on page one?
I ground the blade flat, to a .010" edge first, then marked down the edge with regular intervals (5/16"?) to lay out the serration locations.
Then I put a 3/8" wheel on the grinder, and used a 220 grit belt to grind them in, first 90 degrees to the blade, then at about 30 degrees to the blade from one side, to sharpen them. I inquired about the dominant hand of the end user, found out it was the right, and cut the serrations in on the reverse side of the blade so that slices will fall to the right when cutting.
I was going to go back and sharpen on the grinder to 400 and buff, but the etch actually made the edge toothier and sharper... and I liked the look of the pattern weld in the serrations. So I just hit it a lick with the power strop right on the edge to tune it up. I believe it'll slice some bread all right!
