Integral fighter?

How about Tom Johanning? I don't know if his work is exactly custom, as a lot of the work is done by CNC, but at $375, the TAC 10 or TAC 11 seems like a good choice for a "user" integral. There was a review of one of his knives in the Knife Reviews forum a few months back; you'll find it if you search for "Johanning."

Les, those two TUSK'S were all so far. I have custom blades coming that are not going to be cheap but that I don't expect to remain in one piece as they are experimental in geometry and materials and I want to see where the limits of performance are.

It seems integral knives are much more popular with European makers than American ones.I would suggest checking with World Knife Database www.ifrance.com/worldknifedb/

Integrals are not all in the $1000 plus range. They can run as low as the $600 range depending on the choice of handle materials and embelishment.

At the moment the material availability is what adds up the cost. Unless I can get the exact size raw material in the length that I need there is a huge amount of waste. Even if I have exactly the right size raw material I still have to cut away about 75% of the total weight to find the knife inside that block of steel.

If you have a design that you are interested in having made from 5/8" X 1 7/8" barstock give me a call as that is the only material that I have in stock right now for integrals.
