The blade is 5mm thick just in front of the bolster with a pretty steep distal taper.

Silver steel has 1% carbon, .95% chromium and .2% vanadium. It's German equivalent is really popular for pukkos in Scandinavia. It's a really underrated steel imo.

To be stainless a steel needs to have 12-14% chromium. The above has 0.95%.... Ergo carbon!!

No it's not enough chromium to effect corrosion, the chromium is for performance.
