Hello again,
I had the chance to work on a few of my "Pac-axe" designs recently and was able to complete one for the "list". This one is a bit larger than normal but, still convenient to stick though your belt or down in your pack... and no worries about damaging the shaft on this piece.

This Pac-axe was forged from a 5"x 4"x 3/8" piece of 5160 spring steel. This hatchet is 13 1/2" from top to bottom, is 4 1/2" from edge to back and has a 2 3/8" cutting edge (roughly 1/4" thickness overall). The hatchet is done in my acid soaked/forged finish with an exposed pommel/lanyard hole and satin finished edges. The handle scales are Cocobola wood secured with stainless steel handle bolts. This piece comes with a border-tooled leather "head" sheath with back flap and post by Lance Parrish.
