Intense sunshine, dehydration and some pictures of my hike

Went for a hike on Sunday with some friends to Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia National Park.

It was a glorious sunny day, very little cloud, with the sun beating down. Having checked the weather report in the morning, I knew how important it would be to stay hydrated during this hike and ensured everyone had plenty of water and electrolyte replacements.

I am annoyed with myself that I didn’t follow my own advice, and ended up dehydrated. Although I was drinking, I just didn’t drink enough. It was a silly mistake, but fortunately no harm done.

what a scenic, peaceful view! i bet pictures don't do justice to how hot it can get during the day time and how cold it is at night. i bet it's an unforgiving place for those that come unprepared.

Spectacular photos! Backpacker magazine profiled Snowdonia NP this month and I've been dreaming of a trip since I got the issue.

Which trail was that?

I'm going there in June, and this made me much more excited.:D:o

Yes, it can be an unforgiving place, especially in winter when there is snow and ice and people don't have the necessary equipment.

Whilst we were there, we learnt that a female hiker had suffered serious injuries in a fall and was being airlifted out. I managed to take this picture of the Rescue Sea King which had launched from RAF Valley. Sorry it is small, but it was in the extreme distance.

Man, that is some pretty country.

Very nice landscapes. That helicopter shot really puts it into perspective!
