OK! Now that I have your attention, has anyone been to the American Military Edged Weaponary Museum in Intercourse, Pennsylvania?
Yes, Intercourse! It is an Amish town-go figure.

Dan

HEY! This is a family show here...

With language like that I'll see you in HELL!

Hell, Montana that is...

:D

Never been there but have a few pics of some of the collection. The museum was started by Larry P. Thomas, Sr.

Wait...you mean we are not going to talk about intercourse with knives? :( anyone know of support groups for this problem? :D

Paul,

Right in our backyard as well! And you are right, a road trip is in order. Just have to make some time.

Dan

I've been there. I just couldn't get in. They were closed!!:(

Went down the road to Country Knives. Nice, nice, nice knife store. I felt better after visiting the store.:)

And yes, it is worth a roadtrip for this store alone. The museum would be an added bonus.

You generally have to call Larry Thomas and make arrangements to visit the museum. A buddy of mine has some pieces there. Keep in mind this is a military knife museum, not tactical or custom. One word of caution, when dealing in military knives, beware of refinished knives or ones that look too good to be authentic.
Country Knives is a great brick and mortar store.

As far as Intercourse,Pa., there is also Blueballs, and Bird-In-Hand,Pa. And on the other side there is Bethlehem,Nazareth, and Ephrata. Exactly what was going on when they named towns in Pa. LOL

And don't forget Indiana, Oregon, Washington, California, and IIRC Alaska. I don't recall any more towns named for states in PA (these are just ones I noticed driving through), but even that many is pretty weird.

Dan,
Making time and having money are the key points. It seems the two never go hand in hand.

Hey, plain folk need to reproduce too! :)

Dan & lifter, thanks for the heads up. I never even knew there was an American Military Edged Weaponary Museum. I'll have to call one day and try to make arrangements to visit. Tour the museum and then hit Country Knivesm and see what's changed since the last time. Sounds like a perfect Saturday.

Just fyi...the building that the museum is in used to be a bank. I guess the knives are very safe there. very nice display. Country knives has been in business for decades. A museum in itself.

:)
