We get alot of generous folks doin Passarounds for knives, but not alot of gear passarounds......

I got me a Suunto Xlander awhile back, and really like it. I have alot of watches, and thought this would be a cool passaround.

The watch is a wrist top Compass, barometer, altometer, thermometer and of course watch. It looks great, and as far as I can tell its accurate. I want to know how it performs in differant enviroments, and this is the easiest way to do it.......

Well, depends. What's the retail on one of these things? Something like a watch seems more likely to be damaged during the passaround, and before I'd sign up, I'd want to make sure I could cover it, just in case the worst happened.

Cool idea, though.

They go for around 250, and if I do it, I would send it in a Maxpedition padded envelope insured.

There would be some guidelines, like no wearing it to work, or in the Gym etc..... Be more to use, check out the features on hikes and what not. Other rules would follow...

I just thought it would be cool to see how it liked the desert, mountains etc.....

Id be interested in checking it out. My Ironman is alright, but my wife has had several that have crapped out recently, so I've had my eye on a new watch for the future.

if i hadnt already found my dream watch , id be interested. a gear passaround is a cool idea, and i think you would a have good turn out.

A gear passaround wouldbe neat, haven't seen one those around here.

As far as the watch it could be interesting but I think the participants would need to have the watch for a while each in order to be able to get a good hike in. I guess a weekend each.

I would love to, but I don't know how much input I could give sitting at a freakin' desk :( staring at a computer all day long...

I don't know Jake, how comfortable are you about getting the watch returned all scratched up? Its bound to happen.
