Interested in an Ang Khola

I like the Chiruwa AK for cutting wood. I have lots of Hi Kuks, but reserve chopping for an old 16" GK kuhuri I keep in the back of the SUV.
Hi models are nicer. I have tested their effectiveness on thin ply, and the best lighter chopper model is the Ganga Ram.
I prefer a lighter AK, and would not want the 18" one - you may like a heavier blade.
I find that the 16" AK chops better than an old Eastwing hatchet that I own.
I would never pry with the tip - it is not very hard and you may damage it.

I hear you... I don't even think "hatchet" any more. Chop = CAK. Unless its something big, then I use a 20" AK. There was a 12" diameter branch that fell across the trail this rainy season. Half of it was cracked through & the rest was just hanging there just above head-high. Didn't even think about the hatchet... the 20" AK chopped it easy (OK... it took some work). Bites deep if you keep it sharp.
