Interesting desciption

Jolly -- Checked on that item again today, the item description has been revised. Go figure. ;) :D

 ...It doesn't surprize me. I saw he made it to the forums from his initial auction listing...That seller's name rang a "bell" when I saw it too. Does anyone have that old I.D. list that was made up a long time back?...It had the BF forum names with their corresponding _bay seller's names...I think mine got lost somewhere in the extensive"cyber-maze" inside my hard drive...

In my post earlier, I was trying to allude to the fact that we work hard to get the most out of our US factory capacity so we don't have to produce as many knives in China. As for the future, we would like to continue to produce most of our knives in the USA. I can't really estimate percentages any further than saying that I don't believe that offshore products will ever overtake our American made products. We want to make American product just as much as our customers.

Hey jimmer, tell me this. All China made knives go through the quality control doors at Post Falls. Who else makes knives overseas and pays that much attention to detail? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd be interested in seeing that list as well, heck I don't mind adding my own name. No need to bid against each other...

Seemed like he has some nice older bucks to offer, trashing the quality of newer quality (buck) products to try to justify overinflated prices is another story

i looked at my list and could not make a connection to any names...
not any one i know... i only found three selling a 110 dm and did not see
the old listing... none of the names made a match on my list...
that one that was listed early last week
i bought it ... wateing for it to get here...
got a mint 111 bright banner also... so wont need the ones i got...
should i sell them with or with out the classic sheats?

Is that the point? Is he trashing the new knives to try to get a better price for his. Sounds like a scam to me!:thumbdn:

the thing of not bidding is that you may would have excided what the other would bid any way! so no one gets it !
i lost a good friend on him not bidding :foot: and i did not get it anyway...
he would have gone a lot higher then i
so if you see it and one of us is bidding on it go bid!
if you want make it a shipe bid... better one of us loose to a friend then to a reseller!!! and see the same item again for a lot more!!!
you bid i bid every one bids!! ;)

i read the first paragaph and it soulds like some one that got a bad new one..
his sale our gain!
i have said of keeping it on a low key and not bashing buck
over one knife... they have sold over 11 mil !
and they fix all that come back...
so i still dont know why so much fuss...
rember what you type here is not buck privat it is PubliC...
and you say be quoted some place you dont want it be !!!

...There are so many like him out there...They look in here for information and then it's all about the "money, money, money"... ...I won't "bite" anymore ...I have enough "inflated" Bucks out of that joint...I'll buy through this forum or I'll do without...JMHO...:(

Thanks Jolly, this needed to be brought up. Get it out so we can discuss it.

Goshen, I'm not sure what you're asking - are you asking if other manufacturers inspect their Chinese product in the USA? If that's what you're asking, the truth is I don't honestly know. I make a point of checking out what the other big makers are doing. I don't know their inspection processes, but there have been knives that I have picked up that I felt could have been better. I also handle a lot of products from other makers that impress the heck out of me. Sorry if that doesn't answer your question. - Jim

There is certainly some passionate buck folks out there  .

I started this thread because I was a little dumfounded I guess about the tactics this person used in the listing and really more than anything wondered if anyone else thought it was a bit odd.

I still cant even find the listing. Can someone email me the item number? I must be losing my touch on the search function!
I see auctions like that from time to time and it bothers me. Mostly because It just is not true and I think maybe the guy got hold of a bad knife. I dont expect to convince someone that it is ok to buy a knife made someplace other than Idaho, but I know I could at least state our case for the things he considered bad quality.

Thanks for sending the item number. I checked it and the name does ring a bell in my head...but then again, I am always hearing things anyways so who knows?

 ...My wife said those "ringing bells" I hear from time to time are due to me turning into an 'ol fart... ......women......Gotta luv 'em...:p

Hey jimmer , I'm not sure I was asking a question as much as stating an opinion. I don't think other companies go as far, but I can't state that as fact.

Goshen - I do know that after we've gone into a factory other knife companies try to get in there as well because that factory will be putting out better product. This has happened a few times.

I prefer not to make too many comments on the quality of other companies' products because the knife industry is fairly small, and to be honest, most of the people are pretty cool. I have a lot of respect for our competitors - they make some great products, and as a rabid knife enthusiast, I appreciate cool stuff regardless of who made it.

I agree with you jimmer, I have other kinves I like alot. I just haven't seen anything out of China as good as the Bucks. But having said that , others do make good knives, you're right, I just prefer Buck.
