Uh, I think I might have barely sidestepped this one...or stepped right in it.;)

Seriously, tho, we're all quite civilized, even when ranting.

-------------My first post, to save Pen some time.........

Well, I couldn't help but join in the wonderful world of the HI forum! I'm new to this schtick, but you've seen some of my stuff here before me. I was the nut who blued the 21" GS with the three suns pattern.

This is the first list I've joined, and it promises to be an interesting one. Glad to see such an eclectic and diverse bunch of folks on the forum.

And now, A Question: How does one go about posting a pic?

.. the thread title is "Interesting first posts". Sorry, mine's bland, man. Hey, If Id had a good khuk joke I woulda told it.

If I had to vote for my favorites: Bruise, Beoram and Pappy would probably win for humor alone:D :D LOL!!

Bruise's sounds to me either like Yoda or Gollum from Lord of the Rings:D

Yessssssss, my precious...we will sharpen you till your all sharpsee and pointsees we will...kill nasty hobbitses we will...

perhaps...

but you're preaching to the choir... :D   :D

Those are great. They remind us all that even the "old timers" had to start somewhere. Thanks for the history lesson. Some have learned from their posts and used that knowledge.... And then there's Bruise.;)

Ahh, I remember my first post here like it was only a couple months ago ... oh, wait.:footinmou ;)

This is excerpted from my first post on the KF HI Forum ( then the site's home ) dated 2/23/99:

"Got the 20" Sirupati yesterday. Made it home before opening it ( used the knife that's always on me - a John Primble castrating knife - note: this may give you a clue as to my sense of "humor").

"...reminds me of the time I stayed overnight at my best friend's and he picked up my suitcase to carry it in, did a double take and asked "What have you got in here, lead?" then said "Oh!".

( Translated: of course he has lead, and brass, and blue steel - he travels like me! )

Can you believe I only made a grand total of 100 posts there before we moved to BF?

Rusty, why'd you move from knife forum? I think I'm registered there, though I never go.

The guys running KF got sick of thier owner's decisions ( same way KF came into being ) and revolted, and started BF and when it became obvious the rats were jumping ship, ( probably slow server times as well ) Bill opened the second forum on BF and gradually moved almost completely to BF. This was all over our heads and behind the scenes. KF eventually sold, and sounds like a pretty decent guy's trying to rebuild it. And Mike Turber, who started BF, sold out to Spark... Ya need a scorecard to tell the players.

Interneccine ( or maybe internettine ) warfare and major behind the scenes backstabbing is what I heard was going on but can't point to proof.

Kinda like the joke about a Baptist church spiltting into two churches if a couple ladies showed up wearing the same hat. And about as true on the simple level - short way to describe a complex process.

That's my personal surmise of what I saw. Like a catfight, by the time you get out there it's moved to the next door neigbor's yard. Not trying to run anyone down, or proclaim my version as the one true account. More by guess and by golly.
