Interesting Ka-bar > model 2752

You can't see them because this is a 3-yr old thread and the pics are no longer posted.

Looks similar to the Gerber vietnam dagger

I just found this ka-bar 2752 from the swap meet, it had a bicycle grip over the handle for 7$. As soon as I walked away I cut off the rubber grip not knowing what I would find, but to my delight it was perfect. The sheath is brand new and the blade was a little rounded at the top. After 3 hours of sharpening I stopped the labor but was happy with the result, it has a very good edge. It is a current favorite of new acquisitions in my knife huntung.

That's funny how this pops up as just today I was over at my mom and dad's house for mother's day, and as I was walking across the front yard up to the door what do I find? You guessed it, a near mint Ka-Bar 2752 Black Knight in near mint condition with sheath.

I just had a neighbor bring me a knife to sharpen ( yeah like that hasn't ever happened before  ). But I am always glad to help :)

This is a Ka-bar model that I've never been familiar with in the past. It is model 2752. It is a fixed blade, double edge, dagger type knife that comes with a fairly nice factory leather sheath. What is so intriguing about this knife was it was terribly difficult to sharpen. It truly was comparable to Crucible's older 440V ( S-60V) that Spyderco used on some of their premium models. Of which I have cussed on at least 4 occasions  .

I was close to cursing a couple of times during this nightmare of a sharpening job  2 Questions I have>> do any of you know what blade steel that Ka-bar used in this knife? Second do any of you have any idea what era that this blade was produced?

Thanks ahead of time because I know that one of you if not 3 of you can tell me the scoop on this blade. JD

We have one too. Foud it sewn into a leather jacket of a friend who had passed away. Interesting find! Will NEVER part with it! Found this video. The knife is called the Black Knight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hRVuFG36s4

Is it "Black Ghost" or "Black Knight"? I've seen both used, neither definitively.

Any new definitive sources on this knife since this thread was started?

I just came across mine in the attic of my parent's house where I lived when I bought it some 40 years ago!

Old thread.
"Black Ghost" Made in Seki 1966-1982.
It's highly unlikely to be a US made steel.

Thank you KenHash!

Could you point me to the most definitive sources, please? 🙏
Sorry but as far as I am aware there is no single "definitive" info source for this model.
I would suggest asking on the Ka-Bar subforum here. Maybe someone there would know.

I bought my ka-bar 2752 boot knife in Norfolk around 1989 or 90. I don't recall what I paid for it. It does hold an edge exceptionally well.
