Interesting machete sharpening.

I think files are way underrated. Before discovering the mouspad method I sharpened all my big blades with a small file until they could slice newspaper. Then I'd finish them off by using the sharpmaker stones like files.

I use a file for sharpening my machetes too. I have never used that technique to do it though. I might have to give it a try to see what happens.
 
Until I got my belt sander, I used a file on all of my Machetes. I don't think Mine were ever quite that sharp but I never really tried to thin the edges that much on my choppers.
