Interesting read about an actual SHTF event

The author has been posting for years on his plight in Argentina on numerous boards. From his point of view he survived an Apocalypse and fights to survive day to day life.

Yet he has full time internet access to post on several boards and has a Blog to boot.

His stories on the state of Argentina conflict with stories from friends of mine who have travelled the Country for extended periods.

Sorry but from reading his posts over the years all over the net I take him about as seriously as I take the infamous Mall Ninja or GunKid. If these two names are familiar to you then you know exactly where I'm coming from.

I've definitely heard of the greatly esteemed Mall Ninja, and my internet senses tell me that perhaps similar comedic gold lies with this "Gunkid" fella... Is it going to be worth the search, or can anyone link me to some of his body of work?

Gunkid posts are pretty hilarious and well worth the search. He was very fond of toting his apocalyptic supplies around in a wheelbarrow hence coining the term "assault wheelbarrow".

He also bragged about sniping people from hidden locations and stealing their supplies if the SHTF.

I loved his posts becasue they were so entertaining but Moderators tend to shut him down rather quickly.

OP, yer' about 3 years late on the read, catch up and let us know how it goes...

Have to hand it to 'Ferfal', he set up his 'audience', then created a blog to cater to them. All the while selling them supplies from his ads. Another person hawking 'millinenum supplies' good luck with that....

I find some of what he has to say interesting but I'll agree that of the people I know who spend lots of their time in that part of the world, most think FerFAL's account is somewhat "dramatized."

I don't know how much of the dramatization is going on in his head consciously and how much unconsciously...that is to say I am unsure to what degree he believes what he writes. I think it is pretty true IN HIS OPINION. And I do agree with some of what he says about life in high-crime, high-corruption environments just from my own experiences with them.

But if it were THAT bad there, I would think he'd leave...he is from a fairly wealthy family and the rest of them left the country when things began to look crappy. So he can't feel THAT threatened, and perhaps more importantly he can't feel the life of his wife (or kids, can't remember if he has kids or not) is that threatened, because he's clearly got the option to leave if things are really bad.

I can tell you that the second my gf might be in serious danger of kidnapping or rape I will be out of here with her at any cost, and I have no money other than what I make in construction, and no family connections at all. But I would pull her out of there so fast she'd get hot from atmospheric friction.

So I think his stuff is worth reading, just keep a salt shaker handy as you go.

ferfal is an active poster on another site I frequent. Some of his posts, like you say, definetely overdramatize the situation. But others also give a different look- that things come and go, they get better and worse- not necessarily in order. Irregardless, I respect him for his willingness to share his stories, which are a lot more helpful than the hypotheticals that we normally talk about.
