interesting review on the rc-3

That says probably more about you than him.
Last time I checked I was still allowed to have an opinion.

I even said in my post that even if I didn't like the review, him getting the (positive) word out about RAT Cutlery is a good thing for Jeff and crew.

But you skipped over that and only took what you needed for the personal attack. Maybe that says something about you?

I like to read several different reviews and peoples opinions. I get both opinions and factual information on the product I'm interested in buying. That goes for the manufacturers
info and specs, also.
I can then sort out "all" the information and decide what product will work best for "me".
I don't blame the reviewer for his opinions good, or bad If "I", don't like the product.

My preference is the RC4 serrated edge. It's what I think will be right for me. If it isn't, (and I highly doubt that,) then it's on me, not the guy who reviewed it.

dmonay,

Good post. Everyone should make their mind up on what they like on an individual basis.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the Nutnfancy review since it gave the viewer the basics of the knife, and the viewer walked away better educated about the product than they were before they looked at it (provided they knew little about RC). We will send him more knives to review. When I review a knife for a magazine then it is my opinion that is being written into the review, and sometimes folks don't like my opinion. So be it.

I think they were pretty good reviews. Better than a lot I've seen.
His point-of-view of the use of the knife may be different from someone else's and that will make the review seem off-base.
For instance, he saw the RC4 as a tactical blade, when even the RAT site calls it the woodscraft knife of the lineup. So, if you see the RC4 as a woodscraft knife, his review will seem offbase.
I happen to see botht he RC3 and 4 as outdoors knives for my own reasons. But neither his view of them as tactical knives nor my view of them as woodscraft knives doesn't mean that either is trying to tell anyone else what they are good for, but how we see ourselves using them. It's useful info to know, because it's going to color our perception of the knife.

Last time I checked I was still allowed to have an opinion.
Nobody said anything different.

... what you needed for the personal attack.
You feel attacked just because it is my opinion that what you wrote said more about yourself than Nutnfancy's review?

I didn't say what it would say about you. So, what did you imagine I meant?

Maybe that says something about you?
Now that you mention it.

But to clear things up:
Others posted , more or less, factual criticism.
You wrote that Nutnfancy likes to "hear himself talk" and that you "detest" his choice of words. How is that going with being "allowed to have an opinion"?

I've noticed a lot of bickering on the boards here lately. I think a bunch of us are man-strating right now. lol.

well they say when people hang out alot they synchronize their "cycles"....hmm maybe there is something to this?

I love myself and that gets me by...

... that really didn't come out right.

Why is it that every time I hear the word "tactical" I think of this picture...

Because of this thread my Friday afternoon at work was much more enjoyable. The reviews may not have been from an expert on the subject of bushcraft knifes or RAT Cultery but I found it to be a good review.

I'm a big fan of Rat Cutlery knives (I own one RC3 and love it) and a big fan of Nutnfancy's reviews. Got a lot of good info in his reviews, and I have learned a lot. When I asked him his take on the RC6, he was very honest, telling me that he hadn't seen th RC6 but judging by the RC3 and RC4, he felt the 6 would be an awesome knife.
So between Nutn's opinion and what I've read and seen, I'll be buying many more RC knives.

To life--
