Check this out. I put this paste on the linen side of a linen/leather strop, strop 10 - 12 times in the paste, clean, then 20 - 100 times on the leather. For whatever reason, this paste works best for me.

A paste of diamonds, aluminum oxide and soft cloth particles--that sounds awesome! From the sound of this, and the stuff on the webpage I posted, it seems like people are experimenting with and making their own concoctions. Although, I'm sure they have a relevant knowledge base and some experience from which to draw. This stuff fascinates me. In the same way so too does experimenting with oils and lubes for folders. I was thinking about trying motor oil the other day, and just this morning I considered trying Astroglide or some other similar personal lubricant.

I have been restoring auto stainless trim for some time, and I have used different compounds over the years and this product. Well I tried it on my strop and not only does it give me scary razor sharp edge, it polishes the bevel to a mirror shine. These compunds are cheap and last along time.
