I watched a few episodes of this last night. It's pretty good actually. It's on the military channel. Basically it's a special marine survival course. The one I watched was in the Sierra Nevadas.

and coming on soon is Special forces man hunt which might and might not be much survival, I'm not sure. it looks cool though. This guy who's an expert and fleeing the enemy will be chased by a spec ops search team.

I watched it last night night too. It's actually a repeat from a few years ago, but it's a great series. The Sierra in the winter is no joke! It would take an iron will to make it through that course.

My son and I watched the two shows last night also. I have camped and rock climbed there and Cody wants to. It is beautiful country up there.

Watched it again last knight also, very good show. fire starting with the mag bar was good because it demonstrated why you should practice with it BEFOR you go into the bush not as easy as the picture on the package make's it look

I missed that part actually. I came in at about 9:30. I'm hoping I can DL them somewhere.

A long time ago during something called the cold war, my unit went through a Marines survival course in Wisconsin in winter. One part had us make expedient shelters for the night on the side of a large hill. When I woke up, everyone was gone. I found out later the instructors had woke everyone up and loaded them in trucks headed back to the barracks. Yes, I slept through all that. I was very proud that even the instructors couldn't find my shelter. The bad news, I had to hump around 5 miles back to the barracks, in the dark, in winter.

What? They don't do a head count in the Marines? I would have sxxt canned every one of the NCO's right up the line. Acountability of men and equipment is one of the most important things an NCO is responsible for. It rules your life as a non com. Especially your responsibility to your people.
