Interesting Ti CQC6

Thanks for the info Trader1 - I thought that the knife had been "refurbished" - I know that it was sold to ROSANGHAL directly by Mr Emerson at a show in 1998.

I am hoping the Derek will manage to get some of the earlier history - it is always nice to get a piece with some history!!

Regards,

Ed

That would explain the 98 date on a pre-94 logo'ed blade.

Thanks Trader1, small community we live in.

I am an Emerson collector and have a custom CQC-6 which I received after 5 years of waiting and have another on order plus factory Emerson knives. Can someone tell me about the "Usual Suspects" T-shirt and how one obtains one?

Budrichard,

The Usual Suspects are a group of Forumites who frequent the Emerson Knives Forum leaving posts and replies concerning these great knives. Basically they are regulars who hang out here, swap info and sometimes even swap knives. There are no rules or requirements for consideration as a Usual Suspect since it is an informal association of folks. All that one really needs is an appreciation for Emerson knives that brings them back time and again to read the posts and in turn reply or post new topics for others to comment on.
As for the t-shirts? Well, I made a dozen for fun and sent them out free of charge. It was basically a one-time deal that has come and gone (with the exception of a few late entries who know who they are).
Stick around because there will be a 2001 Usual Suspects T-shirt with a Rhino on the back... Or maybe a Viper-3... Then again a ESM-1 would be cool also...Hmmmmm.

Ark you tease.

Being a Commander kind of guy, I love the idea of E1S-M, but it's not . . . destinctive enough. People will probably think it's a "usual" Commander. I still vote for the "Unusual" Rhino.

Just my opinion

ARKHAMDRIFTER,
Thanks for the info, hopefully I can qualify for a "Usual Suspect" in the future. I assume the phrase is from "Casablanca". I do have an appreciation for Emerson customs after recieving my CQC-6 after 5 years of waiting and ordered another(ESF-1). Unfortuneatly that will be all. I do have the Emerson set of CQC-7 and Commander with a SOCF on order along with a Green-T Commander from Ernie because that appears to be the only way to get a Commander without a serrated blade. I have only seen two other knife makers acheive the mystique that Emerson has achieved. They are Bob Loveless and Jim Moran. Both stopped taking orders in the 70's. Loveless is just now taking orders again! So maybe in 20 years Ernie will again be taking orders for customs. Even thought I suspect that a lot of the custom work is done by CNC machine, the custom CQC-6 is a knife that all the elements come together.

Derek,

Did you ever get to ask Mr Emerson about this knife?

Regards,

Ed
