Interesting Time Lapse Video During 1 Year Walk

This guy wanted to walk across China to Germany. He spent a year walking 4,500 kilometers from Beijing to Ürümqi. He took handheld self-portraits, every day, and made them into this video. There are all kinds of interesting things to see (from an outdoors skills perspective), if you look carefully, such as the kind of mileage he made per day, what sort of terrain he passed through, how the weather affected him, how fast his hair and beard grew, what sort of gear he took, etc.

That is so cool! I would have rather walked accross the U.S. though to avoid all the political borders.
 
That was fun to watch, thank you for the link. Looks like he aged a bit, but in a good way. He didn't have that wild-eyed caveman look you'd see from lack of social contact!

It's amazing the ways people document their lives nowadays. What a great artifact to pass on to children (the blog and video).
 
That was really cool to see the progression of his trip through the slide show / video.
