Interesting video on knife laws in NYC...ask a cop and go to jail!

This is a forum for knife enthusiasts.
If you open carry a knife in NYC, it would make you a felon.

The same politicians that created those laws carry knives and guns themselves, and are surrounded and protected by people carrying knives and guns.

They aren't against guns or knives, they are against YOU carrying one.

Let that sink in.

We are missing main concepts here.
We are all Americans, we worry about rights. NYPD is not perfect, who is. Why are there Draconian knife laws? Nothing me or my family did over 3 generations (Bronx I might add)
We have to stick together, hate NY? ...they will come for you next when we are neutralized...
It has to do with the political crap going on and associated anti-American brainwashing...
Cops on my wife's side could care less about a BM Grip with a clip!
If I can't carry a knife in a certain area, their rule. I went to a function and thought F' them, Im taking my new Griptillian! It was a Jewish function, securred building after 9-11! Their right. Security returned my knife after the function, dirty looks included! Get it?

Guess I'm done speaking to you as well child

Isn't it nap time by now?

Typical response from the oppressive type: I don't like it so you can't have it and if you disagree I'll call you names.

Suit yourself. You do not have to speak to whoever you do not wish to speak to, no disrespect intended to you or New York.

I am quite surprised to see so many people afraid of knives on a knife forum though.

You have neglected to read the above posts, and the posts those other members directed towards me... so please read before you type.. their posts were no longer a debate or conversation but just name calling and childishness... so I have nothing further to talk to them about... that simple...

Oh and I am not afraid of knives, I EDC an umnumzaan daily ... sometimes a sm. sebenza 21 ...sometimes a hinderer xm 18 3.5" flipper/spanto
not to mention a G26

Good try tho!

P.S. it's not a matter of if you can or cant carry this or that, rather weather you are willing to risk carrying said item....if you get caught you need to understand that YOU are actually in the wrong, and getting said item confiscated and any other repercussions were brought on by your actions... as you knew that you wern't supposed to be carrying that item on you in the first place...

I'm happy to continue the chat with you, as long as you can keep it relevant to what we are talking about, and not start name calling or acting so superior because you live in a place that has less restrictions on carry... ;) thanks.

You were the only one in this thread that was name calling.
;)

I thought you were done?
Not a man of your word, eh?

Yeah...because everyone is in a position to uproot their entire lives and move to another state hoping for employment and affordable housing:rolleyes:
Florida is booming with folks from your state. Lots of employment, housing costs 1/3 of NY prices, warm weather and beaches, pretty girls, no state income tax, no snow, pretty girls, bikinis, pretty girls...

Moving south to help FL with those pesky weapons laws.

GA is full.

I read NYC is going after people that leave..tax audits.

The thing with NYC is they make a biz out of ruining peoples lives over a knife. They go out of their way to do it. And the jackboots seem to find great joy in doing it.

Sure they can make the rules, just as they will do when they outlaw knives after they have confiscated your guns. That is the natural progression when the guns are called in. Just look at UK and Australia.

NY Cops try to use a VALID Colorado CCW permit as probable cause to search a vehicle, then proceeded to fabricate evidence, the DA lies in court, and asked judge to seal the case from the public.

Remember this is a Colorado CCW holder, who is an upstanding citizen with a clean record.

The laws there are NOT in place to make you safe, they are in place to disarm to good people and turn you into instant felons.

Get out of NY while you can.

When I'm in NYC or NJ I leave my CCW permit at home. And scour my whole car for anything that will cause a stir. In the Rustbelt we can have whatever we like...more or less. I have to remember when I headed out of the area everyone is not so friendly.

What assine laws, who cares if you can flick a knife open, you can double hand open a knife just as fast without gravity, even if its slower, you are still opening a knife. What about fixed blades? Those are already opened, are they illegal there? I bet cops can carry any knife they want.

The reason these laws pass is because of an overly apathetic population. Its the patriots duty to enforce the constitution, and rights are rights egardless if the state wants to take those rights or not.

Patriots in all states must defend the weak and challenge the government on their unconstitutional laws.

This is directed to all states, and all types of dumb laws. Don't be apathetic, don't accept it as " that's the way it is", because that attitude is how we got here in the first place.

Its not about..oh the law needs to change, its about patriots demanding the law be changed to coincide with the constitution and bill of rights. Demand and protect your freedom and rights.

Without an organized milita hard to fight back. Just lone wolves. And in NYC and CA they have some massive swat jackboot capability. As of now, NYC and CA just keep complying with whatever comes down the pike for crazy laws. NM is starting to form 2A Sanctuary Counties. But they need to form a State Militia if the Governor decides to use State Police to circumvent 2A Sheriffs. NM is a model for America when it comes to resitting the dems efforts at disarming the reps. And that is what it amounts to...the dems disarming the reps.

Our Governor campaigned with a shotgun on his lap.
:)

Here, we can carry a semi auto pistol in the same pocket as an auto knife, and have a full auto rifle with suppressor on our shoulder.

Remember, LEOs come AFTER the crime has been committed.

... NY is a beautiful state, I am one of those that love to get upstate to hike, camp and just to relax.

I have nothing to say to most of this thread, NYC is a hole when it comes to individual rights.

Living Upstate is a very different experience, and I'd say I have more rights than folks in many states in some respects, and fewer than others in other respects. I can CC my handgun (took me 3 months to get the permit) in any bar, restaurant, club unless the owner specifically prohibits it, compared to many states where CC is unlawful anywhere alcohol is being served. No LEO Upstate gives a poop about my pocket or belt knife.

End of the day I'm here mostly because of close access to the Adirondacks and all the other green space, and believe it or not the public school system. The one my kids attend is in the top 200 in the nation. Most of the "more free" states have public schools of such low quality I've known several people who left with their families and actually moved back for this very reason. Once my kids have graduated I'll definitely consider leaving, mostly cause the school taxes are so high (not kidding, but right now I'm getting my $ worth and then some). Heck, I'm eligible for Irish citizenship, so I might not even stop at the border.

With the US 20 trillion + in the hole and no attempt made to rein in spending by anybody in DC, is only a matter of time before the FRN collapses.

I moved out of NYC 30 years ago and after a few year stay in NJ, my family and I settled in Dutchess County NY. It's only 80 miles north of NYC, but it's a very different experience.

As you said, knives clipped to pockets or carried in belt pouches is very common and our local police don't give a second glance.

On a typical Saturday afternoon, it's very normal to hear gunshots in the distance. But it's just target shooters or hunters, no one even pauses.
During hunting season, I've been startled by gunshots at dawn ( while sleeping).
