Interesting...

Wow! Its one thing to poke fun here on the forum, but thats just a crappy low-blow kinda thing to do on a knife add..

So I happily use my CS knives without stabbing slabs of meat or dead animal heads and avoid all of their juvenile BS.

Expect cease and desist letter in the mail any day. Now that you publicly stated that you don't use them for their intended purpose you will have to stop. Oh and your warranty is void as well. :p

Yes " Interesting..." but marketing and advertising is only a small part of why I initially try a product and has zero influence after I test it for myself . Performance vs value is really the game . The rest is just an amusing sideshow .

Overall , I've been very happy with Cold Steel products over many years . I'm much more concerned with their QC than anything LT might say or do about his competition .

I agree with this . I form my impressions of knives after I hold them and use them. Despite some of the marketing, l ve found that I really like several models of CS knives. And I find them to be a great value for the money. Maybe the marketing is getting to me, but I think mY CS folders are my strongest folders for their weight. Some of my current best users and work knives. Recon 1, American Lawman , and Ultimate Hunter are all in this category.

I cut a tomato and some ham with my Recon 1 today. I know.... I’m a wildman! :p

Convicted felons make the best knives. I have a few. Cold Steel has a good product and all, but that marketing is low-as-hell. Just lost a customer. Bummer.

Hell, who am I kidding. I'm still gonna give the Luzon a shot here soon. Looks like it was made for a felon. :D

That sounds like a real bargain as long as you're a high speed, low drag operator.

I didn't say "Currently incarcerated felons." But 1450.00 sounds fair, given the market.

I agree with cold steel. They've become my most used knives. You get quality without having to spend a fortune. It's probably my favorite production knife company.

I owned a cold steel knife at least 25 years ago I believe. Didn't think too much of it and I believe I sold it for what I paid for it. I will say that knife was far more memorable than any of their current product line, if their bi-annual parking lot sale is any indication. I went to one a year or so ago. Unimpressed. Couldn't find a sharp knife anywhere at that sale. But they did have a folder that was about 18". Closed.

So for those of you that like CS knives, I'm going to help keep prices low by not increasing the demand for the knives. But if I ever feel the need to thin slice a Buick, I hear CS has just what I need to handle the task. :D

The convicted felon comment means little to me. Let's be honest, it's tough to start a new life after getting out of prison and good jobs for them are hard to come by. So, you see a lot of handy men, truck drivers, and I suppose knife makers who are X-felons. I believe in giving people a second chance.

I am all about a 2nd chance. However, you AND your partner both lying your asses off about your military service is not 2nd chance. It is reinforcing that you're a POS and building on other people's hard work and sacrifice.

Thompson is over the top but at least he did build something on a bit of honestly. Not the roll model but not a lying felon who continues to steal from others.
