Interframe folder question

I am in the process of making an interframe folder and have cut the pocket for the inlay too far to the back leaving no room for the pins that hold the back spacer. Is there any reason why I can't peen the pins inside the pocket prior to inserting the inlay. I plan on inlaying with mammothh tooth so do not want to try peening the pins through the inlay but would rather have them hidden underneath the inlay.
Thanks
Steve

May folders have pins peened under the scales or inlay. At least the ones I have taken apart. Shouldn't be an issue, but I am no expert.

Steve ,
What about putting in blind screws from the inside of the liners? You do need a blade that is of a "certain" thickness or there won't be enough room. Frank

Thanks
I did end up using screws from inside the liners. A couple of 0-80 screws from each side into the tapped back spacer worked fine.
Thanks for the help.
