International shipping

I just hope it didn't get lost because if i look up the tracking it says the package hasn't left the US since now.

A-K:

I had three deliveries to the U.S. from Asia that took 3-4 weeks to arrive, and that wasn't during the Christmas rush. Your package might have been stalled in Customs somewhere, especially if the Christmas deluge caused packages to pile up and overflow the normal staging areas and get mislaid.

I have had several occasions where the online tracking site said that the package was still in the country of origin, only to have it arrive at my door a few hours later. Delays are not unusual for international shipments, but actual losses are pretty infrequent, I think. Have patience, and good luck.

Do you think it has something to do with christmas, that the post service is so slow?
Yes, I have experienced that before. Both the postal services and the custom offices are overloaded. And depending on the place you live in, the latter may take a lot of time once they have decided to open the package sent to you.

Prepare for dialogues like "What is this?", "You should know, you have opened the box already." Whatever comes then, tell them you are a collector. It is approved of by the law.

Well the package has finally reached germany and passed through customs clearance. i hope the knife hasn't been opened or damaged. Frankfurt airport isn't far away from my place but because of new year i will have to wait till wednesday :( :)!!!

Good and bad news. Just like life just when you get Ying you also get a Yang. I am happy for you though.

I finally got the tin chirra, it is a beautiful khukuri but got a bit rusty :(! How can i remove it without damaging the fine polished blade?

Another thing i want to sharpen the blade to razor sharpness, which tool is the right to buy for easy sharpening, because i don't want to use sandpaper. Is the spyderco sharpmaker any good?

Lucky you.

I have ordered a Gelbu Special and a KLVUK, and the package got stuck in customs. Today, I had to appear at the customs office in order to explain what it is. After careful examination of the package, I was told to open it. Wisely, I let them see the KLVUK only. The officer - who was quite nice - even knew it was a kukri. He rated it as a tool for forestry and agricultural purposes. The customs duty amounted to €55...

I had to pay about 40$ but no explanation needed :).

Does anybod know how to repolish the blade to an even better mirror pollish? And how to easy razor aharpen it? Could you give some examples what to buy, for example on amazon.
