How do you interpret the numbers on Buck box labels? I pulled out three at random, all 110's:

0110-SP23-0
0110RWSSP73-B
B110-GOI-0

Is there some kind of a "Rosetta Stone" that you can use to figure out what all the numbers and letters stand for? Well, the 110 is a no brainer, but the rest is confusing.

Joe told me that what they had was a system lacking consistancy
the folks in sales of each knife kinda/sorta jest followed gide lines
is what i come away with from asking one time
but that they have one now that is more consistant then before
but he did not know how it worked yet..
could be him or some one from there will pop in and enlighten us..

0110-SP23-0
- 110 special project #23 (old style #'ing)

0110RWSSP73-B
- 110 rosewood (RW), std blade (S), special project #73 (SP73)

B110-GOI-0
110 grand opening Idaho (old style #'ing)

Thanks, here's what they are.

0110-SP23-0
- 110 special project #23 (old style #'ing)= Elk handle, satin blade w/deer head cutout, brass bolsters, serial numbered 150 of 250

0110RWSSP73-B - 110 rosewood (RW), std blade (S), special project #73 (SP73)= Cabelas Alaskan Guide (I don't understand the "std. blade").

B110-GOI-0 110 grand opening Idaho (old style #'ing)= Pretty standard looking 110 with black etching on blade ( 1 0f 2005 Grand Opening Post Falls, etc.) , Idaho tang stamp.
Looks like on some of them, the number gives some indication of what they are and some don't.
