From WKSU's websight:

"The Ranger in charge of Mount Rainer National Park's mountaineering and rescue team is speaking at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park tonight (FRI). Mike Gauthier has a new book out " a guide to Mount Rainier. In his 19 years at Rainier he has rescued climbers, and he has recovered bodies. Gauthier (GO tee ay) has also been hit by lightning, three times. Men's Journal called him "One of the 25 toughest men in North America..."

I was up to Canton Ohio last weekend to visit family and caught this on the radio while I was driving into town on Friday afternoon. There's 2 clips on the sight one is the story I heard, about 8 or 9 minutes, the other is the full interview, about 25 minutes. Great stories. I wish I had known ahead of time so I could have made plans to go see him talk and maybe try to meet him and ask him what kind of knife he carries. :p;)

Oh yeah, here's the link to the sight:

Edit: Just noticed the poor wording of the title. Mike Gauthier isn't from WKSU, the interview is.
