Wow! With all us blade lovers around here I'm surprised we don't talk about this show yet. I've just watched the first two episodes and I am hooked. The fight scenes are top notch, and the blades are very blingy but look so nice. I was into Martial Arts for a huge part of my childhood and man....this brings back memories. Wish ole Bruce Lee was still around to participate. This show is very entertaining. What do you guys think?

I caught the first episode, missed last nights (but have it recorded). It has potential.

Generally I'm not into Hong Kong Action, I like the more direct Jason Bourne approach, or even TWD where they just smash a guys head in. When in becomes "Matrix-y" I tend to tune out. This one looks that it might be OK, but also sense a LOT of soap opera.

Watched the first episode and liked the show, and the second is on the DVR.
Interesting setting, characters and story so far, looking forward to more!

kcwater......you and I think alike. Her friends too! This show may be a tad scy fyish...but It totally has my eyes glued to it. Gotta love blades! They had me hooked when they said guns were banished. Sunny at least has a heart.

I am going to wait to see if it makes it. Hate starting a show and it gets cancelled. This ones previews looked a little hunger gamish to me.

True Mono...he does look like him. I love the Young Guns movies....some of my favorite. Did a bio on William H Bonney when I was a kid.

There's a lot more they do than just that cutting chain thing: Endless tip slashing as if instantly fatal, thrown knives instantly deadly, truly ridiculous numbers against one guy, the huge numbers losing out to the point of having no survivors...

There's a way to do this that would look fresh and original by having actual believability in the fights...

I thought the nice little old doctor couple that gets slaughtered by the Baron was very TV tropish: Look up on TV tropes the "kick the dog" trope, endemic to nearly all action/Sci-Fi movies for over 30 years now...

The oldest known clearly identified example is in an old Disney animation, which doesn't really surprise me...

Gaston

LOL... This coming from a guy with the handle of Gaston. Not making fun of the handle (or name), but it is ironic the immediate association of the handle is with a perhaps classic Disney dog-kicker, that I'm familiar with from my daughter's fascination with Disney's princesses.

Anyway, a good read on TV tropes. Makes me want to catch the second episode more now.

Incidentally, because of the actor, I had little doubt the Baron what's-his-name was truly evil. Or at least the audience was to be led this way. Can the casting of a particular actor in a role be a trope in and of itself?

Gotta agree on the red (headed widow) baron, or the fascination thereof, that zombieassassin mentioned.

So far so good. Lots of action. I am pretty sure after the fight scene in the bar that I may be in love with the widow.

Garth

Lol Garth....you are not the only one......nothing quite as sexy as a beautiful babe with tons of blades. She is mesmerizing to say the least and she knows it.

Easy to watch when it follows my favorite show. Can anyone name the blades used.
