Vinney, I been where you are at, and know how you feel:jerkit:

I'm using a Coote, 10" wheel (good for hollow grinds), with a HF 1 HP Ag Duty motor. It was $100.

The grinder was $500 with all the goodies. Step pulleys, knife rest, 10" wheel, and all the rest.

You will have to make a motor mount for it (e-mail me for details if you want), but it IS a sweet grinder for the money. Coote is a great guy, too!

It won't measure up to a KMG, but it doesn't cost like a KMG either.

My 2 cents is this:

Build yourself one, if you can.
If not, then buy used (but know what you're getting).
If not possible, get a Coote.
When your'e ready for a KMG, you'll know.......

Thx mike yeah the coote and the grizzly have been the news ive looked at...well

I would like to suggest that you purchase a new grinder for your shop. Most grinders in the used condition will probably be about shot. I would go with a Bader 3 or a Bur King. these two grinders are the top of the line. A grinder is a most in a knife shop and is a big investment. So do your self a favor and purchase a new one and you will be glad you did. You can find them on my website. Just click on the link there knife maker's supplies. Hope this was of help to you. May you have a blessed day in whatever you do in life. --------
