Introducing myself + first knife

Hi everyone, I've been hanging out here the last few days, and the amount useful of information I've already found is overwhelming. Everybody seems really cool and very helpful so I plan to hang around and I thought it'd be rude to not introduce myself.

I was hanging out in Ban's shop and he had this piece of O1 steel lying around from an old coworker of his who tried to grind something but never finished, since then the poor piece has been Ban's strop scraper.

He gave it to me and asked me if I could make something out of it, and so it all began...

From here, I went over to frogfish's shop to heat treat and into my oven to temper. Went back to Ban's shop to finish it up and put on the handles (Ban surprised me with his sweet frosty finish).

Since then, I've cleaned up the micarta and put the knife to a simple test.

It wasn't long after that, that I got the itch to make another knife again. So just over the weekend I ordered a Delta 1"x42" and some other things to go with it. I know I'm headed into a very interesting ride and I can't wait. ;)

AWESOME blade and welcome!

Nice first knife, indeed.

Welcome to the addiction. And no, there is no such thing as knife makers anonymous.

Welcome to the family. Looks like a good first knife. I like the way you put it work already too. Hey that last picture looks like you have a fire in your laundry basket.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hahah, it does look like it.

It's actually one of those portable grills.

The sweet smell of cedar...

Nice first knife. I saw some barbells in one of those photos. You'll have Nick Wheeler coming down to visit now!

Nice! You're done... no hope for you now. You've got The Affliction, for which there is no cure.
Keep up the good work.
