Hello BladeForums, I wanted to stop in and say hello. I joined BF a few years ago but hadn't been very active. I've collected a few SAK soldiers and have a fair amount of other EDC style pocket knives like Spydercos etc. But I'm new to traditional knives and especially GEC. After reading the posts here and viewing the pictures the members have posted I'm hooked! Feels like I finally found my niche in the knife world. Thank you to all for the great information you have posted already. I've made my first foray into traditional knives thanks to this forum and ordered a Case Mini Trapper with wharncliffe blade and GEC #14 boys knife from a much talked about and active vendor here, as well as purchased the Gold membership to BladeForums last night. When those arrive I'll post pictures right away.

What got me into these knives was a picture posted by Primble nearly two years ago of a #77 Northfield Barlow in Saw Cut Dark Chestnut Bone with a wharncliffe and clip point blades. Some of you may remember it, the picture with the Indian Head Nickel... page 3 of the Barlow Impressions thread. What a fantastic looking knife and excellent picture! As I understand it that particular gem was produced in 2014. I've reposted that photo here just to show my appreciation for it. Hopefully thats ok? By the way if anyone ever wants to free themselves of one just let me know... :)

Thank you again to all for your insight, pictures and stories. I look forward to being an active member here! 2nc3yia.jpg

Welcome to Bladeforums and the Porch, JITDC. Primble and his pics have lead many a man and woman down this slippery slope we know as traditional knife collecting. :D

Welcome to the porch JITDC. My guess is Primble's photos have attracted many people to this part of the Forum. I'll be looking forward to your future postings of the Mini Trapper and Boy's Knife. Glad you found you way to this niche of traditional enthusiast.

The porch, is a wealth of knowledge, friendliness, and generosity. Welcome JITDC!
My first traditional knife was a Case Mini-Trapper too.

Welcome. And that is a beautiful and useful combination barlow for sure. I wouldn't mind adding one to my collection also.

Welcome man! You should change the color of your name, so as to reflect your membership level, they have stickies about it on just about all moderators pages. Don't forget to check out other brands, custom makers, and the vintage pieces that all of (most of anyway :D ) traditional folders come from. Be wary, some of the folks here are real jokers, in a good way. And some of the threads will have you ordering a knife, before you knew you wanted it.
Thanks,Neal

Welcome to The Porch

(Gives me an excuse to use my 'pull up a chair' pic! ;) :D)

Welcome! And yes Primble and others have turned their knives into works of art.. I followed a similar sirens call while following a TC Barlow Google search... wonderful place!

Hey welcome back, I used to have an account but just to lurk. Its much better to be a part of the community. Was here for the pictures of 2dead's CSC trappers. Didnt have any money to buy them, but boy they sure were pretty. Good to join the fold
