Hello BladeForums, I wanted to stop in and say hello. I joined BF a few years ago but hadn't been very active. I've collected a few SAK soldiers and have a fair amount of other EDC style pocket knives like Spydercos etc. But I'm new to traditional knives and especially GEC. After reading the posts here and viewing the pictures the members have posted I'm hooked! Feels like I finally found my niche in the knife world. Thank you to all for the great information you have posted already. I've made my first foray into traditional knives thanks to this forum and ordered a Case Mini Trapper with wharncliffe blade and GEC #14 boys knife from a much talked about and active vendor here, as well as purchased the Gold membership to BladeForums last night. When those arrive I'll post pictures right away.
What got me into these knives was a picture posted by Primble nearly two years ago of a #77 Northfield Barlow in Saw Cut Dark Chestnut Bone with a wharncliffe and clip point blades. Some of you may remember it, the picture with the Indian Head Nickel... page 3 of the Barlow Impressions thread. What a fantastic looking knife and excellent picture! As I understand it that particular gem was produced in 2014. I've reposted that photo here just to show my appreciation for it. Hopefully thats ok? By the way if anyone ever wants to free themselves of one just let me know...
Thank you again to all for your insight, pictures and stories. I look forward to being an active member here!
