Introducing Myself

Oh man, just run...

Or, as a little social experiment, keep track of how your tastes and spending change after being on here with us... Let's see where you are at after a year... In any case, welcome to the madness!

I been on here for a couple days and already spent $200+.

Yeah, a grand a week sounds about right. But don't worry, you will only lose 20% on the ones that you sell, so it takes a while before you sign up for the credit accounts...
You'd be further ahead if you gave that money to your wife so she could buy purses and shoes... You'd still be in debt, but your wife would be happy.

Amen to tastes changing and to spending crazy amounts of money!

I never knew how many knives I "needed" to have until I joined the forum.

In either case, it's a great place to learn and grow as a knife lover. A lot of wonderful people and information.

Welcome!

WELCOME!

Be sure to explore the subforums and enjoy your stay.

The Spyderco Delica and Endura are their best sellers. And for good reason. The Tenacious would be an excellent low cost option.

The most amusing part about being part of the forum is finding some cool knife to replace a knife that you absolutely LOVE. You end up learning about a certain model and loving it so much it never leaves your pocket so you get bored after seeing everyone else with their cool EDC rotations. You get rid of said knife that you LOVE. Buy the replacement. You either love that knife too or hate it, keep it or get rid of that one. Go back and buy the original knife that you LOVE all over again, rinse, repeat and do over. LOL.

If you do happen to find a knife that you love, the final decision is you gotta keep it, and if something else fits your fancy get that too, but don't get rid of a knife that you know fits your hand like a glove. You'll end up being on replay and getting it over and over again.

[Full disclosure] I just did a trade with another BF member last night to get a Delica. It will officially be my 4th one at this point. I'm going to keep this one hell or high water!

Start saving for your RHK XM18 now and avoid spending a bundle of $$$ on lesser options along the way.:D

Tastes change quick. I started to change my liking a few years back. Had a similar collection to the one in OP, gave it all away to my neighbors son who is in the boy scouts and appreciated them more. I started fresh with a leek. only accrued like 4 knives maybe.

Since last Thursday, I was laid up in bed (decade old knee injury sprung an issue). Went online, and have like 7 more now.

Last two days, while being registered, I've purchased 4 knives in exchange forum, and made a friend who I am shipping my stock griptilian scales to just cause I wanted to pay something forward. Not to mention, my tastes have been altered in just the last few daya. And of course my new taste in knives seem to add a 0 to any knife price that fits said tastes.

This place is dangerous. I thought being in a gun forum was bad. A blade forum is apparently much more dangerous.

Welcome to the madness! Would have loved to see a naked pic of that katana. And what is the make/model of that bowie?

Forged blade with blood groove.
And the Bowie is a Winchester limited edition. I know most their stuff isn't great, but this thing is amazing. Razor sharp to:-)

You seem to have a pretty good start with good variety. When I started collecting I realized that I like fixed blades but every time I get them, I rarely use them. I then chose to sell most of my fixed blades and use that money to invest in folders that I carry every day and it was a great choice. I reccomend you consider doing something along these lines. There are lots of great folders that are good for carry but one I always reccomend as a first knife is the lansky responder flipper knife. It's under $20 on Amazon and it is an extremely amazing and underrated knife. You won't really understand why it is a great knife until you hold it in your hands. It looks sort of cheap but it feels amazing.
