Introducing our new X-Carry Sheath Line

Good, I will need to pick up a couple of counts in the future. One ISP for me, and a cross carry for the wife's Bushboot, She is used to that carry height with the sheath she has, but it needs to be replaced.

Sounds like a plan, look forward to it!

Interesting. Going by comparison images alone, I had the EDC II and the Patch at about the same length, yet they fit 'the same' in two different-sized sheaths.

Still climbing the learning curve

It all comes down to the shape, not necessarily length only. The EDC II is more spear pointed so it sits a tad deeper in the sheath than the Patch. Also, you'll notice the handle shape requires a little more "grab" on the EDC II, so the bullseye is out a little more. The EDC II does "fit" the Earl, but it's all the way to the bullseye, making it harder to draw. In the same way, the Patch "fits" the Count also...just shallower, with more handle exposed.

I picked up a "knight" last week and took it on a camping trip this past weekend. I got it primarily for my Ladyfinger, but it also fits my Arete, Bushfinger, and KE Bushie. I have relatively little experience with high quality leather sheaths; mostly I just cycle knives through one of several production quality sheaths that I own. I picked this one up partly because I was interested in trying out horizontal carry. It turns out that horizontal carry is just ok (at least for a knife this size), but I am very happy using it for vertical carry. The greatest strength of this sheath design to me is flexibility; it holds several knives in a variety of configurations. The workmanship and leather quality are both outstanding, and I expect to pick up a smaller size eventually.

Thanks to Diomedes and thanks also to Fiddleback Outpost for the great customer service. Pictures to follow when I get the opportunity.

Thank you for the kind words and great review! We'd love to have the review for the product on the site if you'd like to do a product review there also. It really helps others as well. Thanks again!

Can't wait for your pics!

Indeed. The dangler I have for the 3-3.5 inch blades, due to the shape of the handle and knife in general, is also the best fitting sheath I have found yet for the KE Bushie

The new XCarry Knight works great for the KE Bushie too! Here's a KEB in Wenge in a Russet XCarry Knight. You know, for science.

Aha! This all makes very good sense. Thanks for the helpful explanation.

who just plain wants to see more of these knives in person, but is grateful for everyone's Describing in the meantime.

I should have probably been more clear with that post... What I meant was the retention is better on the sheath I have of all the ones that hang below the belt I have tried. The dynamic is different for high ride sheaths than low ride or dangler. The Earl ISP actually does fine on the KEB for me, but the dangler model that fits most of the 4 to 4.5 inch blades really well, is a bit loose on the KEB for my uses, where the 3 to 3.5 model fits it well enough to field, though I wouldn't complain at all about the same exact dimensions a hair tighter nor a tad deeper :)

No, I believe you meant to say "wow, that one is awesome too...I will be needing that as well". Right?! RIGHT?! 😉

I don't have a KEB and I love me some Wenge so add that to the list of ones I want from your lineup Robert.
I didn't know there would be a test and I needed notes! Dammit. I'm gonna need coffee if I have to study tonight. Crap. I'm out of coffee. 😕

Looking great Jason, they look both stylish and durable. Having grown up in PA, I approve of your using W&C :)

Sure, I can do that. Still working on the pictures. With the current pace at work, natural daylight and being home don't overlap much.
