I have been mostly lurking here for months, only occasionally commenting on other people's posts. I think it is time for me to take on a more active role so I have upgraded to knifemaker membership and I would like to give you a bit of introduction and put up a few pictures of some of my work.

I have been making knives for about six years, though I wouldn't show any of those from the first couple of years to anyone else. I attended the ABS Intro to Bladesmithing school in Arkansas in 2010 and it was an extremely valuable two weeks. I have also been reading and learning here, though rarely posting, and I really appreciate all here who so willingly share their knowledge with this knifemaking community. I look forwarding to participating more in the future.

Here are some of my knives.

This hunter is forged from 5160 and has a 5 inch blade. It is 9 3/4 inches long overall. The guard is 416 stainless with a reconstituted stone spacer behind it. The handle is shaped from stabilized koa and has a domed nickel-silver pin.

This one is also forged from 5160, but is a bit larger with a 6 inch blade and 11 7/8 inches overall. This one also has a 416 stainless guard and the handle is curly maple which has been stabilized and dyed to a honey color.

I welcome any comments.

It's great to see you here Tony.

I glanced at your site, and you are doing high quality work! Awesome folders too.

Nice work. Good to see a MS person here too. My folks live in Batesville on the other end of the state, but I was raised in S. Louisianna. I'm jealous of your location.

Thanks for the comments everyone. And Mike, I'll get some pictures of some of my folders up on here later today.

wow, i dont know much about hidden tangs, but those pins are really far back. i take it that means lots of extra work with a broach

Mike-E, most of that work is actually done with a drill bit, but there is certainly a bit of digging with the broach too.

Here are some of my folders. The first one is a design I call the Kansas toothpick. A lady asked me to make a knife for her to give her husband for his birthday and she wanted something long and slim. This is what I came up with. When it was finished I saw some similarities to a Texas toothpick, but it is definitely not a Texas toothpick. The original knife was going to Kansas, so I started calling it the Kansas toothpick. I hope that name is not already in use! It is is 7 3/8 inches long (4 1/2" closed). The blade is 154CM, liners and thumbstud are titanium, and the bolsters, backspacer, and all fasteners are stainless. The scales on this one are spalted buckeye burl. It was ordered by a gentleman who saw pictures of the original and wanted the same knife with different scales.

I've done a bunch of linerlocking Barlows. I really like the classic folder shapes, but updated with modern twists. Here are two of them, one clothed in snakewood and the other in curly maple. Blades on these are also 154CM.

Very impressive, I think you have established your credibility as a knifemaker on Blade Forums.
