Hey guys, Gordon here. I joined recently to check out the handmade stuff. I am truly amazed! I expected 'just knives' but most I've seen blur the line between form and function.....job well done I guess I should say.
I built a hotrod (1971 Camaro), then built several guns (AR's), and now I'm fully going low-tech by trying a few knives.
Santa brought me a 110# (or close) anvil that was allegedly made in the 1940's. It is in great shape and dent free. A sweet hammer/tongs and a few files made it under the tree too.
I'll start building a forge ASAP. Went looking for firebrick today...gonna grab a few tomorrow. Going simple coal for starters and meanwhile I've been eyeballing basis-of-design for a propane forge.....and then I'll nail down a belt grinder. Just trying a new hobby out....one that has interested me since I was a kid.
