Welcome aboard from another Texan! Fort Hood area. I just joined up a couple years ago myself, but have been on hiatus for awhile. (Got sidetracked and distracted back into the gun world again.) But I am back and looking for new Beckers!
 
If it has to be said, we usually prefer former. The saying goes there is no such things as an ex marine. we use former to distinguish from active service... most often it is "former active-duty Marine"
You are right though. Once a Marine, always a Marine

I am pretty evenly torn between the BK16, BK24, and the BK9 right now. I want to spend some quality time with my 7 for a couple weeks and really make it mine. but they are all going to find a themselves a comfortable home in my collection.
 
Welcome to the madness and hello from a fellow Texan, looks like you got it bad already :) go for the 24 next, I can't say enough good about it.

I have two 14's instead of a 24 but those are all fine choices. I think I'll finally go ahead and pick up a BK7 next month. The only other one I'm really excited about (except discontinued or my BK10 that's en route) doesn't come out until 2015... :(

Well Toooj said he wasn't at liberty to talk about it, even though it has been mentioned on here before. But out of respect I won't just blurt it out. But it should be easy for anyone to figure out. He said it is a blade that is a collaboration with another knife designer, and was once in production but when they bring it out it'll be slightly different from the original. There's only three BK's that are currently not in production and only one of those, that I know of, is a collab. Also Ka-Bar doesn't have the capabilities to make the other two. Oh boy I can't wait.
