Hello everyone,

I am a long time peruser on BF and decided it was time to join (way past time actually). Thought I would introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Matt and I'm a knifeaholic. 51yrs old and have been EDCing a blade since I was 7, given to me by my father. It was one of his old Case 2/3 blades. Lost it within a year but the addiction had been cemented. Carried and collected slip joints for many years until my wife bought me my first high end around 2000. A Spyderco SS Police ATS-55. Sold most of my slips to fund my high end blades. I have a small stable. A dozen or so folders and 4 or 5 fixed blades. Mostly Spydies and Benchmade folders, a couple RATS (pre ESEE) and Cold Steels. My screen name denotes my all time favorites.

My old man died about 15 years ago and while my friends do carry blades they're not really knife guys. They look at me like I'm crazy every time I show them a new knife. You guys have been keeping me company for quite a while now and I thank you for that.

Well, that's about it for now. Hope I can contribute.

Hey Matt, Welcome to BF! It's always nice to have more knife nuts around! It's a great place with some great people and some great information, and by the look of your screen name I'd say you have great taste! :thumbup:

Welcome here. I'm on the same boat. None of my buddies are knife or EDC people. It's a lonely world for us but this forum makes up for it!
 
Welcome from a fellow new member. I hear ya on the long time perusing of this forum. Swore I would never open any kind of social media account, but here I am.
 
Welcome Matt ! As other have mentioned there are lots of good and helpful people here .
I've only got one buddy of mine who also carries a knife , but he's not addicted like I am lol . Like yourself I'm also in a transition from lower into higher price knives .
I sold ten knives off , but in the last couple of weeks I've bought three ZT knives :eek:

I may need an intervention :o
