Hey everyone, I have been posting here for the past few months, and as usual, I have offended a few along the way ;)

I thought I would post some of the first few blades I have made to show where I am at, and would like some feedback. I am not new to tools, and am really focusing on the detail side of things in my next few blades. I signed up for the miniature KITH, and hope to make a 1/4 scale replica of the bowie drawing I have (awaiting steel to start both simultaneously.) Several of my first blades are from a sawmill crosscut blade (?L6 or 15N20.)

Here goes:

The above are all O1 steel

This is the second knife I started, but the third I finished. It is my current favorite and the inspiration for the knife above. The handle has been scratched a bit as it was run over by my car when it fell out on my driveway.

I would like to do some more detail work, especially at the front of the handle, to make it flow better, but my wife reminded me: "this is a tool. I use it to cut things. Make me a sword for art or something. (I love my wife !!!!!)" The handle is custom fit to her hand, and the blade is specific to what she wants for taking in the garden in the fall. The handle is Zebrano, left over from my kitchen cabinets.

My first Kitchen knife. It is a gift to my niece and nephew. The best they have is a Wal Mart $9.76 chef knife. Even with the flaws they are in heaven with this one. The handle is Honduras Mahogany (unusually dark and figured grain) with Brazilian Tigerwood liners.

My next project with a mini for the KITH.

I splurged on the beer that week. Thanks for the comments.

they look awesome except for one thing......

run , do not walk , to put together a saltwater etcher for your signature.

the dremel engraver does not engrave unfortunately.

I hear ya!!! I have been looking up homemade etchers. I just can't swing a couple hundred bucks right now for a proper etcher. Since all have gone to family, they understand. I spent my extra on a PID setup to forge and heat treat properly. I should have something better for signatures within a month.

I don't mean to come across as broke. I just gave $10000.00 to my lawyer for another retainer in my legal battle with my house builder. I have to watch my spending for the next couple months. Thank you for the link. I will start collecting some supplies this week.
