Introductions, news and batch pics

Gorgeous knives. Love the spalting. Oh, and the black, orange, and burlap...well, it's life changing. :) Probably my favorite looking handles ever.

I am lurking on this part of the forum for a while, but this time I have to say: Andy it is absolutely incredible! I love your knives and this new finish is really stunning. It adds to the clean and simple lines of the handle and blade and really gives the knives a unique "personnality".

I hope I will manage to grab one of your knives, one day :)

G'day Andy.

Any indication on when the knife I preordered before Christmas might be ready?

Kind regards
Mick

Back from vacation guys. THanks for the compliments.

Mick, the knives I'm making for that thread are cut and drilled, but not ground. I have a whole batch of CPM 154 knives to do. Going to try them next week hopefully. I don't do timeframes. When I can fit in requested knives while running my business I do.

Man those blades are sick. Love that 3rd degree spalting. Well done. Although I tend to agree with the above statement. I like the shorter bolsters also. Just my taste, but those knives still look sweet.

Now how do i get to the table at blade fast enough to grab that Nessie, lol :)

COngrats on the your daughter's baptism. Sweet chef knife. Any thoughts on making a santuko one? or just sticking with the French style?

I'm going to do all three and a larger version of this one as well. I'm going to start using 1/16" thick steel for these. Its nicer to work with. I don't make many Sandoku's because of the amount of work involved. This was easier to accomplish.

The Bushfinger has a wider handle spine to edge than the Ladyfinger. The length of both is 4.5".

G'day Andy

I guess I owe you an appology. :o

I had no idea that expressing an interest in one of your current models (admitedly in a steel different to O1) would have been outside of the business you do.

Honestly, if it presents a problem to you, please don't hesitate to let me know & I'll take my business elsewhere

Kind regards
Mick

Listen Mick, I like you, what I don't want is forum drama. You mentioned a knife, and I was immediately interested in making it, a few other guys liked the idea too, so I'm making a few.

The way I work is to fit in ordered knives along with others, so that I'm not totaly dependant on orderers to actually pay, and to pay quickly. I do it this way because of almost missing mortgage payments a few times last year by focusing on orders, and not being able to get $ from orderers.

I have orders that are over a year old, and while I'm doing this project as we speak (only a few months since the initial thread), I expect the timing to be left up to me. If that is not acceptable, then please, take your business where your money feels properly spent. I'm making these either way.

That handle combo turns me on.

Do Y'all still like Nessmuks? Then you'd better get to my table at Blade Show quick, or this won't be there!

This Bushfinger is a Scandi in 3/32" thick 3D Spalted 01 steel! Even better is this Shadetree burlap burl handle!
