Inventory Of My Knife Steel - What Is Yours?

Looking at these lists tell me I'm missing quite a few steels, including Infi.

My list has made my wallet a lot lighter. Sometimes I wish I didn’t care about steels and have just one good quality knife to do it all. Unfortunately, I was bitten strong by the knife/steel bug and I’ve developed and obsession towards toughness in knives. Now my OCD doesn’t allow me to go back.

3V. — Bradford
8Cr13. — CRKT
Aus-8. — SOG
VG 10. — Spyderco
Elmax. — ZT
XHP. — Spyderco
S110V. — Spyderco
S30V. — Benchmade, Spyderco
S35VN. — CRK, ZT, WE/Massdrop, Southern Grind
H1. — Spyderco
LC200N. — Spyderco
G2. — Spyderco
420HC. — Buck
204P. — Spyderco
20CV. — ZT
M390. — Lionsteel
N690Co. — Spyderco

Favorites right now are Elmax and XHP. 204P/M390/20CV is always at the top too.

I used the crap out of XHP this week, then sharpened it for the first time. I was very pleased on both accounts, though I must add that blade shape and grind were very conducive to my actions.

When I get back to buying, I'm going to go after knives made out of D2, 3V, XHP and 204P/M390/20CV. Might even get me an Infi blade!

I think I got S30V, 154CM, 440A, 420HC, 5160, AUS8A, 12C27, whatever the Spaniards mean by :X42 stainless molibdenum Vanadium". I'm guessing it's their 440A.

In fixed blades, I'm adding 3V and probably a Bark river LT in Elmax(don't have any Elmax currently)

My next folder, should be 20cv(Big grip!!)

This Fall, I'll sell off most of the 1095 and A2 blades, F rust and just OK edge retention, lol.

I have 2 Garbergs in SS (they sell cheap in the exchange), I'd like to buy a user in Carbon just to try it out. The SS ones work in wood(mainly wood gas stove prep) and Fish!!!

Currently loving S35vn, 3V, CPM-154 and S110v(love the manix2 LW), I don't remember what the SS is on the Garberg, but it's OK.

Lots of Kitchen knifes are currently transitioning from 440? to VG10

I went the opposite way of most guys. I originally wanted only really good steel. Was buying a lot of cts-xhp, 154cm, etc. Now, I don't hesitate to buy a Kershaw or Crkt in 8cr13mov. Not the best edge retention , but I can get them scary sharp with a few passes over a ceramic rod. Something to be said for that. Also do not mind 440c, 1095, or aus8. Will not buy 440a, or less than 8cr. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

My Users,

1095 - 4
M4 - 2
S90V - 2
440A - 1
Aus8 - 1
BD1 - 1
VG10 - 1
154CM - 1
S30V - 1
S35VN - 1
