It's been a lite year as far as knives go, out of work since Feb. but somehow I managed to get a few new pieces.

I got a mixed bag this year. I spent most all my time and money on tools for teh shop so I could try building my own knives. So far, lots of tools but no complete knives, but I'm close to finishing a few.

I got a custom Mayo recurve in S30V that I'd ordered from Tom a year earlier. It was the first custom that I ever specified.

I got two Bark River Ek knives from my son for my birthday. He'd carried them when he was in the Persian Gulf with the Navy.

I got an Al Mar SERE 2000 and SERE Operator as keepsakes to remember one of my oldest friends who passed away suddenly. His little brother gave them to me.

I got a pretty old Paul Henckels 10" slip joint pen knife from my Dad that was originally a promotional knife from a company that made food packaging materials.

I'd rather have my buddy back that the Al Mars, but I can't bring him back and they're nice rememberances.

Not a whole bunch of knives by many standards, but each one has a special meaning to me so I consider it a pretty good haul.
