so this has been the very least number of knives I've bought in YEARS, but it's been a very good one for quality production knives.
Here's what I bought since 01-01-2004:
SS Cricket
Spyderco Dodo
Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 Bowie
Camillus Heat
Spyderco Chinook II
The Dodo has become my "at work" knife
all of the time. I'll carry the SS Cricket in the other pocket on occasion. The Dodo is the perfect knife for my job because of the irrational 2" blade length restriction my employers have. Also, it's the perfect knife for the warehouse environment I work in. Cuts cardboard, rope, twine, plastic sheeting, box tape extremely well. The S30V blade holds a great edge and the handle is just a joy to use due to it's comfort factor. It was a wonderful thing when Spyderco put this full size ergonomic handle together with the unique hooked shape, recurve blade. The Dodo is warehouse work knife perfection for me.
The Chinook II is with me
all of the time I'm not at work, either in the left pocket when I'm carrying the Maxx or a fixed blade on the right side, or the right pocket when I'm carrying the BM 806 which rides in the left front pocket. The Chinook II is an awesome piece of folding cutlery. The knife does all the chores I want my folders to do and it does those chores really well and looks good doing it.
What can you say about the Maxx? It's an amazing folder that can do things other folders cannot do and will be there because it's not so heavy as to exclude it from pocket carry and as always, a big knife can do what a little knife can do but a little knife cannot do what a big knife can do. 'nuff said. A real "best buy" IMHO.
All in all it was a very good year for me, not so much in quantity but in quality it was a truly great year!
