It's been a great year for me -- I've really enjoyed using the knives and reading and participating on this forum. I'm looking to make fewer purchaces next year, but spending about the same amount. I've already got a small regular Sebenza on layaway.

It's been a light year for me. We moved from the city to a rural area and instead of me being the breadwinner as I was previously, my wife now occupies that role. I've only acquired the following: SAK Huntsman plus, deluxe Tinker, and a Spyderco Military. I was just recently hired as a paramedic, so I expect things will pick up again!

I just started aquiring knives so all I have purchased would be

Case Yellow Handled Barehead Slimline Trapper
Kershaw Chive

I got interested in knives about a year ago. I so far have:

Cold Steel SRK (i'm gonna sell it soon)
Benchamde D2 Griptillian
Spyderco Centofante III
Swamp Rat Howling Rat
Busse Magnum EU17 (on the way)
Leatherman Wave
Spyderco Sharpmaker

Edit: Nevermind. I thought you guys were talking total collections. I don't know what I got this year only.

Ya got a Platinum Membership, not a knife but almost as good.

It's been a decent year but I spent a lot on my other addictions.

SAK ranger
Ingram hunter
BK9
spyder manix
spyder assist
spyder jester
spyder little temperance leaf
BM grip
Randall 19
70s case scout
BR micro

and a surefire e2e which just arrived today, KL1 head will be the next addition.

It's been a very slow year for me. To tell you the truth, I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty happy with what I already have.

I did pick up a:

1. A handful of Vic SAKs
2. Bark River Highland
3. Gerber Nautilus (bad decision)

I am hoping that Santa will bring me a Spyderco Manix and a Swisstool Spirit for Christmas. :D

so this has been the very least number of knives I've bought in YEARS, but it's been a very good one for quality production knives.

Here's what I bought since 01-01-2004:

SS Cricket
Spyderco Dodo
Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 Bowie
Camillus Heat
Spyderco Chinook II

The Dodo has become my "at work" knife all of the time. I'll carry the SS Cricket in the other pocket on occasion. The Dodo is the perfect knife for my job because of the irrational 2" blade length restriction my employers have. Also, it's the perfect knife for the warehouse environment I work in. Cuts cardboard, rope, twine, plastic sheeting, box tape extremely well. The S30V blade holds a great edge and the handle is just a joy to use due to it's comfort factor. It was a wonderful thing when Spyderco put this full size ergonomic handle together with the unique hooked shape, recurve blade. The Dodo is warehouse work knife perfection for me. :D

The Chinook II is with me all of the time I'm not at work, either in the left pocket when I'm carrying the Maxx or a fixed blade on the right side, or the right pocket when I'm carrying the BM 806 which rides in the left front pocket. The Chinook II is an awesome piece of folding cutlery. The knife does all the chores I want my folders to do and it does those chores really well and looks good doing it. ;)

What can you say about the Maxx? It's an amazing folder that can do things other folders cannot do and will be there because it's not so heavy as to exclude it from pocket carry and as always, a big knife can do what a little knife can do but a little knife cannot do what a big knife can do. 'nuff said. A real "best buy" IMHO.

All in all it was a very good year for me, not so much in quantity but in quality it was a truly great year!
